DU’AAS
Du’aas for the Morning and Evening
These supplications have been taken from the authentic ahaadith of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam. It is a great sunnah to recite these supplications in the morning and evening on a daily basis and by practising upon this noble sunnah of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam, one will attain numerous blessings and immense reward in this life and in the Hereafter, inshaa-Allah.
لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْىٖ وَ يُمِيْتُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شیْ ٍٔ قَدِیْرٌؕ
There is none worthy of worship except Allah, the One; there is no partner unto Him. To Him belongs the Sovereignty and all praise Is for Him, He gives life and causes death, and He has Power over everything – (10 times)
One who recites this du’aa after finishing salaah before moving from the sitting posture and before speaking to anyone is granted the reward of emancipating ten slaves, 10 good deeds are recorded for him, 10 of his sins are forgiven and his status is elevated by 10 for each time he recites it. He is protected from the evil of Shaytaan and every undesirable thing until the evening. The same is granted until the morning if read after maghrib salaah (Ahmed. Tirmidhi)
اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
0 Allah, save me from the Fire
(7 times)
Protection from the fire of Jahannum will be recorded for the person who recites this du’aa before speaking to anyone after the fardh salaah of Fajr and Maghrib and thereafter dies on that day or night. (Abu Dawood)
حَسبِيَ اللَّهُ لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ عَلَيهِ تَوَكَّلتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ العَرشِ العَظيمِ
Allah is sufficient for me. There is no God but He; I have trust in Him and He is the Lord of the Great Throne. – (7 times)
Allah becomes sufficient for the reader of this du’aa by removing his grief pertaining to this world and the Hereafter. (Abu Dawood. lbnus Sunni)
رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبَّاً، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيناً، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَى اللهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيَّاً
I am pleased with Allah as the Lord, with Islam as the religion and with Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam as the Prophet. – (3 times)
Allah has taken the responsibility upon Himself to please the reader of this du’aa on the Day of Qiyaamah. (Ahmed. Tirmidhi. Abu Dawood)
بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِيْ لا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلا فِي الْسَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ
In the Name of Allah by whose name nothing on earth nor In the heavens can cause harm; and He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. (3 times)
Nothing will harm the person who recites this du’aa. (Ahmed. Tirmidhi. Abu Dawood)
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
I seek refuge by the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

Allah grants security and protection to the person who reeds this du’aa and it is also effective from protection from harmful creatures. (Ahmed. Ibnus Sunni)
One should recite Surah al-Ikhlaas and the Mu’awadhatayn (Surah al-Falaq and Surah an-Naas) three times in the morning and evening as the Messenger of Allah is reported to have said that they suffice the reader for all things (Abu Dawood). AI-Ayat al-Kursi (Surah al-Baqarah: Verse 255) should also be read in the morning and evening, as this serves as a protection from every evil. (al-Haakim)
